The Moggers, an enthusiastic team of eighth graders, claimed the championship at North Buncombe Middle School's (NBMS) annual Student Kickball Tournament on June 3.
Students competed across three kickball fields in an afternoon full of friendly competition, teamwork, and school spirit. Although the traditional championship game between the student winners and the staff was canceled because of rain, the tournament remained a memorable way to celebrate the end of another successful school year.
“Each year, our student kickball tournament is one of those special events that reminds us what makes North Buncombe Middle School such a great place,” said NBMS principal Nicholas Honeycutt. “It gives students the chance to have fun, be active, cheer each other on, and come together as a school community. More than just a game, the tournament promotes teamwork, school spirit, physical fitness, leadership, and positive relationships. It is a great way to celebrate the end of the school year and the hard work our students have put in all year long.”
